Camp Summit is an outdoor-based day camp designed specifically for middle school students. Kids completing grades 6-8 may attend. It is designed to entertain and challenge teens with character development and team building, sports, games, archery, crafts, and swimming and exciting field trips. New this year are wilderness camp sites and a low ropes challenge course.

Cost is $120/week for members and $150/week for non-members.  For more information, contact Mary Ridings or Charles Williard at 712-2000.

What to Bring to Camp:

  • Water Bottle
  • Athletic Shoes (No flip flops!)
  • Bathing Suit and Towel
  • Lunch, 2 snacks, and several drinks (no candy or soda!)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Repellant
  • Proper Attire for Outdoors. Sometimes, we get wet!  Might want to bring an extra change of clothes!

 

 

What Not To Bring:

  • Anything you don't want lost, stolen, or broken.
  • Portable DVD Players
  • Portable Game Systems
  • Cell Phones
    • Anything that is a distraction may be taken by counselors until the end of the day!

July 7 – 11  “The Spider Man Complex”

Field Trip: Natural Science Center

     - It was wild!

 

July 14 – 18  “Stand By Me”

Field Trip: 4 Seasons Mall (bring spending money)

     - We're big shoppers!

 

July 21 – 25  “Under Pressure”

Field Trip: Emerald Pointe (extra $25 fee)

     - We had a splash!

 

July 28 – Aug. 1  “What’s going on?”

Field Trip: Laser Tag (extra money for video games)

    - We got to zap each other!


Aug. 4 – 8  “Take a Chance”

Field Trip: Hanging Rock ($4 if swimming)

 

Aug. 11 - 15  “Live Out Loud”

Field Trip: Celebration Station (extra $20 fee)


Aug. 18 – 22 “Playing It Cool”

Field Trip: Homeplace Recreational Park (extra money for snacks and video games)


 

*Note: There will be no camp on July 4th.  Friday's field trip will be on Thursday, July 3rd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Code of Conduct:
  • Campers need to respect themselves, the staff, and other campers.  This includes respecting their property and not causing any harm to that person physically or verbally.
  • Profanity and other inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
  • Illegal substances, including alcohol and tobacco, will not be tolerated.
  • The use of mp3 players, cell phones, and personal game systems are not allowed, and may be taken away until the end of the day.
  • All YMCA property, including the camp site and camp equipment, should be respected and not vandalized or mistreated in any way.
  • Campers need to listen to the staff and follow the camp schedule.  They are not allowed to leave the camp or invite in others who are not program participants.
  • Failure to follow this code can lead to write-ups, being sent home for the day, suspension or dismissal from the program.
