Summer Camp

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

2008 Day Camp at Marvin Ward and Southwest Elementary Schools.

Through a great partnership our 2008 Day Camp Program will be held off site at Marvin Ward Elementary School and Southwest Elementary School.

Today's YMCA movement is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care (in the nation), and is larger than any for-profit chain in the country.

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina like YMCAs across the nation is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care. As the nation's largest provider of child care programs, YMCAs provide family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children's healthy development. Well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so that parents and school staff can have peace of mind. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong.

As the largest child care provided in the nation, the YMCA believes that the quality of child care can not be undervalued. We strive to provide the highest quality child care and child care like all YMCA programs are driven by our mission of Helping people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind, and body.

Activities in our day camp program consist of devotions, character development, fitness, computer activities, arts and crafts, enrichment activities and snack. Children are divided into age appropriate huddles and our maximum ratios are 15 children per counselor.
